Day in the Life at OfficeTribe – Tourism Industry Team

“We joined OfficeTribe to reconnect as a team and move away from isolated home working.”

Working in the tourism industry as a tour operator bringing international visitors to the UK, Covid had a major impact on the business. Like many companies, the team gave up their office space and moved to fully remote working.

Over time, however, something was missing.

“We joined OfficeTribe as a way to ensure the team was connecting in person again on a regular basis. There’s nothing better than being in a room together and allowing ideas to bounce off each other.”

While Teams and Zoom meetings served their purpose, they eventually began to feel repetitive and disconnected. The team wanted to rebuild collaboration, improve workflows and bring back the energy that comes from working alongside other people.

But for them, the biggest reason for joining OfficeTribe went beyond work itself.

“The most important reason was personal, to shift the mindset of isolated working, which was causing some team members to feel lonely. It was important to reinvigorate the team not only for professional success, but for personal happiness too.”

A typical day often starts early.

“I’m usually one of the first to arrive, which I quite like. I fire up the laptop, deal with any urgent emails, then head to the kitchen for a much-needed morning cuppa, usually with some chatter and banter along the way.”

The relaxed atmosphere and sense of familiarity have become a huge part of daily working life.

“When you see the same faces every day, they really do become coworkers, even if they don’t directly work with you. I love the random conversations that break up the day and the constant laughter that makes the office feel alive.”

The team now works from OfficeTribe three to four days a week, creating what they describe as the perfect balance between work and home life.

And it’s not just about the workspace itself.

“OfficeTribe isn’t just about working. Hattie and Tom organise loads of social events too, networking breakfasts, quizzes, themed drinks and games nights to name a few.”

For this team, coworking has become about far more than simply having a desk. It’s helped rebuild routine, connection, collaboration and enjoyment in the working week.
