Places to meet in Tunbridge Wells

If you have that September back-to-school, back-to-work energy, you might be booking in those meetings and meet-ups with clients and co-workers.  But where to go in Tunbridge Wells?

Well, your first port of call should be our meeting rooms, of course.  Equipped with presentation screens, and coffee and tea making facilities, you could ‘order in’ and transform your meeting table into a dining table.

But if you feel like a stretch of the legs and a change of scenery, Tunbridge Wells boasts many great places to socialise whether you’re meeting a potential employee or unwinding at the end of a busy week.

Here’s our guide on where to meet according to what you need to achieve.  We’d love to see where you go so let us know or tag us with #officetribemeetup!

Where to meet in Tunbridge Wells if you’re a creative

Creatives, surround yourself with kindred spirits at Allkin on Calverley Road.  The story of this new watering hole is impressive: it rose from the (literal) flames like a phoenix after lightning struck the original, very successful, brewery in 2022.  Innovation has sparked throughout Allkin’s journey so it’s perfect for you whilst you exchange ideas with clients and colleagues. Craft beer, natural wine and snacks are on the menu here.

If you’re looking for a coffee option for your meet-up then Esquires on Mount Pleasant is a good option.  We love their large tables so you can spread out and the food is good too.  But be quick as there are only a few and it’s walk-in only.

Where to meet in RTW for an interview

Whether you’re interviewing or perhaps being interviewed yourself, you might feel as though you need somewhere calm and quiet.  Understandable and of course, OfficeTribe can help.  We have small meeting spaces and offices which would be perfect – no distractions, no interruptions, a professional space.  Contact Hattie Butler at OfficeTribe if you have any questions.

If, however, you would like some distractions, within walking distance of both our co-working spaces is the beautiful oasis of the brasserie at One Warwick Park.  If it’s an interview over coffee or a more impressive business lunch that you’re after, this contemporary location is spot on.

On the flip side, if you don’t want to be overheard, somewhere bustling and busy is perfect.  Fine Grind, at the bottom of the High Street and near our London Road office, fits the bill, especially if you sit at the tables in the window nook.

Where to go in TW if you’re a group

OK, we’re going to get strict: this category is not to be confused with ‘Team night out’ (see below) as it refers to actual work!  A meeting of minds, perhaps in the day or early evening; think networking, a support group, a group of peers.  These places have areas that you can book so that you can be left in peace to get on with the business at hand.

Have you heard about the OfficeTribe Neon room?  Located at our London Road coworking space, energise your meet-ups in this specifically designed space.  It can host up to 12 and is fantastic for workshops and small speaker events.  Guests are accommodated around a large meeting table and there’s a brand spanking new plasma screen for digital presentations.  Pop to one of our local cafes for hot drinks and pastries or have them delivered.

You don’t have to be a member of OfficeTribe or to have visited before to reserve the Neon room.  Contact Hattie Butler at OfficeTribe to find out more.

Charlotte’s in the Pantiles is a fairly new addition to this historical part of Tunbridge Wells and what an addition it is.  A marble bar and velvet décor as well as light and bright, Charlotte’s has two areas that can be reserved for groups of 6-12.  Enjoy their fantastic menus for a brunch, lunch or dinner meeting and savour their cocktails as evening falls (or anytime!  No judgement here …)

Where to go for after work drinks in Royal Tunbridge Wells

The Pantiles has many options for after work drinks with a friend or two but here are some of our favourites.

Charlotte’s in the Pantiles is pure decadence and this luxurious drinking location makes you feel as though you’re leaving the day behind and stepping into another world.  Switch-off and unwind.

The bar at the Hotel du Vin is spacious and cosy, especially in the winter.  We love the big slouchy, comfy sofas that you sink into, making it very difficult to leave.  A drink of something delicious is your reward for the walk up Mount Pleasant from the OfficeTribe locations.

This place has been described as a Tunbridge Wells hidden gem.  Fonthill Brewing Taproom & Bar is a secret spot for Friday nights after work.  As cosy as your sitting room, sit back and relax while you try one of their own brew craft beers or their collaborators, The Gin Box’s, cocktails to start the weekend right.

Where to go for a team night out in Tunbridge Wells

Just up the hill from our co-working spaces is The Shuffle House, a real life ‘house of games’.  You and your co-workers can play shuffleboard (addictive and you will become competitive) whilst enjoying great cocktails and a tasty menu.  Or book yourself into one of The Shuffle House’s several escape rooms.  Will you escape in time?  Who cares!  Swap stories over cocktails instead.

Hatton’s on the Pantiles is the place to go for fine wine and great food.  Chef Daniel Hatton has curated a refined wine list and hosts supper clubs with the latest dates out now: enjoy delicious wine and food whilst getting to know your colleagues.

If you follow our socials, you’ll know that we love a pub quiz night and our favourite location is The Guinea Pub.  Think you can beat us?  Well, you probably can, but you’ll have to prove it!

Where to go if you’re having a bad day at work

We all have them but there isn’t much that good cake can’t fix.  Betwixt our Mount Pleasant and London Road locations is Juliet’s.  Award-winning and extremely popular, this is the place to go for a slice of deliciousness when you need a little pick-me-up.  The cakes come in generous slices and whilst you’ll find the usual suspects from any cake line-up, there is always something unusual to pique your interest too.  Eat in with a pot of tea for a moment away from your desk or takeaway, the cakes are sure to make you smile.

Quick after work drink spots in Tunbridge Wells

If you’re walking home or en route to public transport, a quick drink to smooth the way could be in order.  We are blessed with numerous drinking spots aside from those already mentioned.  OfficeTribe favourites within a few minutes’ (literally) walk of our offices are

·       The White Bear – great sofas to sink into and a fantastic ‘outside’ area – go look!

·       The Bedford – good fun traditional pub

·       The Claremont – great pub food and beautiful garden in the summer months.  In the winter, enjoy the cosy interior and proximity to the train station!

Have we missed your favourite place?  Are you still struggling to find the best place to meet or mingle?  Let us know and we’ll ask our Tribe – better still come join us and ask them yourself!
